We’re very happy to be regarded as the “local” garage, here in Balmain. In fact, our history goes back a long way. 26 years ago I started working at the legendary ‘Bills Garage‘ located on Darling Street Balmain, which was well known in the local community for our ‘famous’ wall painting.
Sadly, the existing owner Bill passed away and so, together with my business partner, John (who I worked with at “Bills” for over 15 years) decided to start up Balmain Mechanical Repairs. Our new light and airy premises, located on the corner of Brent and Crescent streets, Rozelle is a welcoming sight for many local car owners, who know and depend on us. However, we are pleased that many former Balmain locals, who move away from the area, also keep coming back, knowing their cars will receive the best possible care and attention.
What’s our secret? Well, like I said, we are a true local garage - dependable, affordable, friendly and able to provide the kind of service that’s hard to find nowadays. For example, many busy business people leave their cars with us early in the morning and pick up them up after hours.. They know that we really know our stuff, stand behind our work 100% and will fix any problem, no questions asked. In other words, they trust us and have have confidence that we will deliver.
Another benefit is convenience – we are always happy to pick up, or drop off locals to their homes, or to local transport, to make life easier. So, while you could say we’re in the business of servicing and repairing cars, it’s really our customers who we look after most of all.
